What is this tool?

This tool converts text and URLs to and from percent-encoding (also called URL encoding), the format used in web addresses and query strings to safely represent characters that aren't allowed directly in a URL — spaces, ampersands, slashes, accented letters, non-Latin scripts like Cyrillic or Arabic, and even emoji.

• Encode mode takes plain text and converts special and non-ASCII characters into %XX sequences (for example a space becomes %20), using the same rules as JavaScript's encodeURIComponent().
• Decode mode takes a percent-encoded string and converts it back into readable text. If the input contains a broken or invalid percent-sequence, you'll see a clear error message instead of a blank result.
• Use the Swap & flip mode button to send the result back into the input box and switch modes, so you can quickly check a round trip.

Common uses: preparing query string parameters for tracking URLs and UTM tags, decoding messy URLs pasted from log files or reports, and debugging redirects or canonical tags that contain encoded characters.
